Hello,
I have a weird issue here. We've got a Server 2008r2 File server with Windows 7 clients in our environment. The Windows 7 systems are mapping their home directory via AD 'Home share' option and additional drive mappings through GPO. All of the shares are on the same host. The issue..
Users log in and on occasion their home directory is mapped to the proper drive letter but when trying to access it you receive a 'Access Denied' error. Now there are other drive mappings to the same file server which do map and are accessible. If you log off and then log back in you will get your home mapping.
We've enabled the GPO which will wait for all network resources before logging in, though that did not fix the issue. The share being accessed is something like \\fs1\homeshare\jdoe
DNS appears to be correct. We've re-registered the file server with the DNS server and verified a proper forward and reverse entry.
Is there any way to get more detailed logging on what might be happening when logging in and mapping the home share? Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thank you
