Hello,
I am a Sys Admin trying to delete a DFS Share folder from DFS Management and I get an "Access Denied" when trying to delete it. I am a Domain/Enterprise admin.
A little about the set up. DFS was created back in 2007 with DFS(domain based) domain level 2000 by a former employee. We upgraded our overall Forest to 2008 functional level. I also want to delete the entire name space and recreate it so it will be at 2008 functional level(DFS Exported/Imported). I have done the following to now avail.
- Added myself and domain admins to "Delegate Management Permission" On the namespace.
- Added permissions to it in AD Systems DFS Conf.
- Repadmin to synch DCs
- Restarted DFS Services
These shares are currently be used by end users(although problematic). I just want to make sure I don't run into problems when trying to delete the namespace and recreate them. I have not problems trying to delete a shared folder on a DFS share I created on a different Namespace.
Please advise.
