Hi,
I have a Windows Server 2012 member server that i'm trying to configure as a storage server for ESX.
I have tried and failed to create an iSCSI LUN that will successfully present to ESX5. I get a login error (0301) on esx. I can however present the same lun (after reassigning the targets etc) to a guest machine on esx without issue.
Having given up with iSCSI I have attempted to setup NFS instead but it appears that i can only create an NFS share if the disks are from a storage space. Storage space performance is terrible (whether mirror or parity) so i want to use the software raid in windows disk manager.
So Question 1. Is there an issue with win2012 iSCSI and vSphere5?
Question 2. is there a limitation for NFS that means it can only be used on a storage space?
What's the solution?
Thanks
Mark
