Storage solution with NAS backend?

Hello,

I want to share folders (CIFS/SMB) to multiple users from windows server (2012) box. They will work as a file storage for users. But I want to use NAS box (exporting cifs/nfs) as backend storage.

I have looked at CSV, DFS etc, but I believe they does not work with NAS as backend.

Is there any other windows storage solution/technology that can be used in this scenario? Can windows server be a proxy between NAS storage and client?
