Use UNC to access file server getting error message "logon failure: the target account name is incorrect"

We have existing Celerra NAS shares, and are migrating the data to a windows 2012 cluster file server. right now data has been migrated, but before we cutover to the new file server, we did a test by redirect users to the new file share. What we did is on the testing workstation, we created local host files. In stead of pointo to Celerra share, we added a entry in Host file to point the existing file server name to the IP address of the new Windows file server.

Current File Server: FileServerOld  10.1.1.1, new file server: FileServerNew 10.1.1.2. Host file entry is FileServerOld but IP address is 10.1.1.2 (new file server). When we try to access the share by using\\FileServerOld\share, we got the " "logon failure: the target account name is incorrect" error. But we can see the share if we use\\10.1.1.2\share. We have the application that needs to map using UNC name, so what would be your recommendation?
