Will antivirus scan "undedup" deduplicated files?

Hi!

Does running an antivirus scan on files require files to be "undeduplicated" to normal file structure before the AV scanner can scan them?

The scanner in our case would be Symantec SEP 12.1 RU4.

.. The reason why i'm asking is that if the AV scanning requires the files to be "undeduplicated" and then deduplicated again by Srv 2012, that whould have huge impact on our backup server (DPM)

Thanks,

Antti
