Hi,
We upgraded our File servers to Server 2012 R2 a few weeks back. Mostly everything has been working fine, however the helpdesk have reported they are no longer able to transfer ownership of users roaming profiles as required.
When attempting to do so, they receive the error: "This security ID may not be assigned as the owner of this object."
I've been through the various post's that discuss this issue, but non of the solutions seem to resolve our problem.
The helpdesk users have been granted full control of the share, as well as full control on the ntfs permissions. Using "Effective Access" report shows that they have full control.
I've also granted them the "Restore files and directories" and "Take ownership of files or other objects" permissions on those servers via group policy. running gpresult shows that these permissions have propergated.
Having seen a few posts that described a similar issue caused by UAC, I have tried disabling it, but still no luck.
Finally after running out of ideas, tried granting one of the helpdesk members full local admin on the server, however they still receive the same error.
Anyone have suggestions of what else may be causing this issue?
Cheers
