Hello,
I have a USB drive attached to a Windows 2003 R2 file server. In that drive, there are folders shared to different domain user groups. The server now has hardware issue and starts to fail. I want to make sure that folder sharing and security permission will remain unchanged after I attach the drive to another server running Windows 2008 R2.
- Do I need to unshare the folders before removing the drive?
- Will files get corrupted after change server?
