RAID5 splitted in 2 broken volumes

Hello all,

I have a weird problem with a software RAID5 (4 x 1TB SATA) on a Server 2008 R2 Server.

AFAIK, the drives are all ok.  I'm not managing this box so I'm not a 100% sure what happened (I know there was boot problem and the drives where pulled/plugged while running - NOT hot swappable).  I've been asked to recover the data....

I'm not sure what happened but disk management is showing the following

2 x 1 TB disks (RAID5 - FAILED)

2 x 1 TB disks (FOREIGN)

2 x 1 TB disks (MISSING)

If I try to import the 2 foreign disks, I get a warning that the imported disks are part of a RAID5 set and is incomplete.  Data loss will occur if I continue.

I haven't performed the import : I don't want to write on the disks.  I get the feeling the somehow, Windows is now seeing the disks as 2 different RAID5 volumes (each missing 2 disks) and thus unable to recover data.

I don't have a backup of the data (No comments - I'm not managing this box!!!!) so it is crucial that I recover the data.

Is there someone that could help me?  I'm out of ideas and about to send the drives to a data recovery company....

Regards,

Eric G.
