We have a branch office server which one data volume of 1TB max (Raid5-set, 4 disks). capacity in size. On this volume data resides of two companies. We use DFSR to replicate the data to the file servers at our headquarters. Each company has it's own replication group and namespace.
As the volume is almost full we need to consider alternatives as data volumes larger than 1TB with DFSR are not recommended by Microsoft (so I've heard).
Is the following scenario an option?
Expanding the RAID5-set to 6 disk (adding more space) and adding a extra volume. That way we have two volumes. Each with it own DFSR database and so that each can grow to the max. size of 1TB?
