Using Windows 2003 ABE and folder traversal worked happily together, users see only what they should and any users that we gave access to further down the folder branch are granted explicit permissions to a file / folder and with the help of an direct short
cut could access this data/location.
Creating a new server to migrate the data to (server 2012) this combination fails, ABE works fine but the traversal doesn't seem to work (it takes windows about 5 mins before it errors) however turning off ABE allows the traversal short cut to work fine. I
have tested this on a 2008 server and it also fails so i believe it could be something that has changed between 2003 and 2008. has anyone else got this combination working on 2008/12? Because we would like to take over the folders and current permissions it
needs to work this way otherwise we would need to massively review 10TB worth of data and permissions that have been granted over the last 8 or 9 years or so!
Thanks
