I don't post much on technet so I applogize if I'm not in the right area.
I'm working on a domain environment with two DC's (2003 & 2008) and a file server (2008).
On the file server (lets call it FileServ) there are 3 shares. Users, Shared, and Data. We have one Windows 7 computer that cannot browse into the Users share. No mater what user is logged into the workstation (including domain administrator accounts) this computer cannot browse the Users share. Users on this same computer can browse the other shares.
Error: "You do not have permissions to access \\FileServ\Users. Contact your network administrator to request access."
STOP... don't reply yet... :) Keep reading.
When on other workstations users can access the Users share with no problem.
I remove and re-added the computer to the domain, but nothing changed.
Customer is not sure of the last time this worked properly, or if it ever did.
Thinking there is something wrong with the workstation, I ran a sfc /scannow, but everything was ok. Ran a full malware scan, but found only a few cookies.
Using Vipre antivirus. Disabled Vipre, but this didn't help.
I get no events showing up in Application, System, or Security logs. Well, other than it complaining that the redirect group policy is failing due to not being able to access\\FileServ\Users.
==========================================
Possible issues:
Permissions issue: No, because the Users share can be accessed from other computers by the same employees.
Windows Firewall: A-It's not on. B-Employees can browse to the other shares on the same server.

Workstation is Windows 7 Pro. SP1. Desktop using wired.
oh... And the computer account is in the same OU as the other computers.
Thank you in advance for any recommendations or insight.
Jim

More info:
Found that browsing to "\\IPAddress\Users" or "\\FileServ.domain.local\Users" work ok. It is only "\\FileServ\Users"
that gives the permissions access message.
I checked the Hosts file. There is one entry there, but for a totally different program and server.
I also found two other posts/forums of people who had the same or similar issues. One resolved it by wiping and reloading the computer. :( The other resolved it by deleting all listings of "\\FileServ" from the workstations registry. (http://serverfault.com/a/32507)
I searched this computer for references to "\\FileServ\Users" but ony got hits referncing other useraccount profiles that we redirected to that UNC. I think if I have to delete all "\\FileServ" from the registry that it may cause enough problems that a wipe/reload will be the answer.
