Hi I am assisting with moving a customer's data from filers on a the existing domain to filers on a new domain.
As you can imagine the AD migration will not all happen at once so I want to be able to preserve the existing shares which users see. In the case of domain based DFS Namespace is it possible to add filers in the new domain, migrate data and either repoint the shares to the new domain transparently to users or replicate the old sharenames in the new domain?
I cannot shut down the old domain and will users to access the data on the new filers
Can anyone offer any suggestions?
NB - to add to the complexity, the new filers will be Netapp - I dont know if this is a help or a hinderance.
