Server capacity

Hello everyone.

Thanks for taking a second to read this and hopefully reply. I will start off with the usual "hi my name is matt and im an alcoh.. wait I mean im a complete zero when it comes to Servers. But I know I needed one or two because I have been paying alot of $ to have my websites hosted and I am about to put a database online that consists of several (200+) million records, and the price they quoted to host that was not even in the ballpark of negotiation. So I went on craigslist last weekend and bought a bunch of servers. I know most of them are moving out of the pro league and into the senior classic but I have been told that they will get the job done. Here is what I bought: 1 dell poweredge 600sc 1 dell poweredge 1800 3 dell poweredge 1850's and 1 dell poweredge 2850. along with a storage rack a couple 48 port powerconnect switches and some other boxes with blinking lights that say dell power...something. Soooo Here is my question: I read today that these servers have disk size limits that you cant exceed. and my newest (least old) is the 2850 which im told the 6 disks have a limit of 300GB each X 6 is... (shoes off...2 ..192...) 1.8TB correct?? I have porn collections that almost that big. I would need to purchase roughly 27 of these little 300 gb hard drives before I could even think of transferring any data.

(I havent even hit send yet and I can hear the sighs as your eyes roll back in your head. ) I know im missing some part to this equation.

Oh if it makes any difference I bought a couple of them from a software retailer who went belly up and 2 of the servers came with 25 end user lisc... so 50 total from what I read in one of the books that came with it im supposed to give them to the people i want to have access to the server or something similar. Then another of the 1850's has linux on it and that guy said that those lisc are worthless because its from 2003. So I dont know they are in a file folder if I need them.

One of the servers came with a crate full of books and manuals etc and I have spent 3 days.. gosh its Thursday so that makes it 4 days that I have been doing nothing but reading about dns gateways and trying to figure out why ALL the servers show they are connected to the net until I type anything then they say they "only appeared to be connected" but cant actually reach any web pages" but if I pull the net line then they show offline so I know they are connected. I turned off all the high medium low restrictions entered in every website I could think of as a trusted site but still cant even connect to Microsoft.com or even windows update.  So as I was trying to figure that issue out was when I came across this part about disk size limits. Which makes me wonder if I should keep trying to get these online or set them out by the curb and pay the $1800 per month to have this database through salesforce. Then the websites on top of that but those are pennies compared to the $300 per user per month with 6 users.

I thank you very much for your time and if someone would rather send me an email its caoilman@live.com (I only use it to log into here so I dont care if its posted)
