I've been testing with storage pools and virtual disks in Windows 2012 R2 recently and am looking to deploy it to production. What's holding me back right now is that i'm not sure how to get alerts if there are disk failures, etc. With our RAID cards
we have them setup to send notifications if an array degrades or a disk fails, but i'm not sure how to replicate this when just using the Windows 2012 storage features. In my testing I've done things like pull a disk from mirrored pool, and of course
there's no immediate problem because the data is redundant, but it would be nice to know that a hot spare took over or that a drive had issues. Thanks for any ideas.
