I have a DFSR replication group setup and several of the members but not all are stuck on “awaiting initial replication” and have been for months.
On investigation it seems that the receiving members (the topology is a sending master and several receivers in a spoke topology) who are still awaiting first sync cannot see the Replication group “GROUP1” although when configuring as a new member on
the master sending server they pass all of the tests.
It also seems that my group is not the only group not to be replicated to some of the receivers local DC’s (If you search for replication groups in the correct domain in DFS Manager) in comparison the ofending receivers when looking you see say 20 replication
groups (mine is not there "GROUP1") and when looking at the sending master in the same domain you see 25 ?
Strange thing is that the DCs that correspond to offending servers that dont have all of the replication groups visable have the
DFSR-GlobalSettings in place and looking in adsi edit I can actually see the full 25 replication groups includeing mine and the DCs are all replicating normally.
Im not sure if them not seeing the replication group is a red herring but I would assume all servers should be able to see all replication groups in a domain as its all part of the directory ?
The replication group has 25 servers, 8 are not working and are a veriety of OF from W2003 R2 to W2012 ?
Would really apreciate any insight as I see nothing coresponding to this directly online :o(
