Simple as the Title says. I have a folder I can't change any permissions on under SBS 2008. I'm logged on as the Administrator Account, I've taken ownership of the folder and contents without issue. Attempting to change any permissions gives access denied.
These are the current permissions:
SYSTEM:Full Control
User1:Modify
User2:Modify
User3:Modify
Administrators:Full Control
The Administrator Account is a member of the Administrators group - originally I was on the best practice Domain Administrator account for SBS, being the non "administrator" but another account, but OFC under 2008 this is useless as you can't elevate Explorer and can't do ANYTHING with folders. I thought it was this issue but even as the actual Administrator account I can't change anything on this folder.
I've never seen this, at the most I should have to just take ownership and be able to give myself Full Control - I can't even give myself access...
So yeah, why have MS still not given any official response to the BS that is permissions for domain admins under 2008 and what is going on here?
