Hi
We have a global issue affecting both laptops and desktop computers. When a user returns to the computer after 30 minutes, in which time the computer has entered sleep mode, the user attempts to open one of the mapped drives, they then get the following error.
Location is not available
P:\ refers to a location that is unavailable. It could be on a hard drive on this computer or on a network. Check to make sure that the disk is properly inserted, or that you are connected to the Internet or your network, and then try again. If it still cannot be located, the information might have been moved to a different location.
The user then has to wait 1-3 minutes before the network location is available again.
The drive mappings are assigned via Group Policy preferences which are then mapped to DFS referrals. I have created a manual mapped to a non-DFS referral and a manaully mapped drive to a DFS referral.
Manually mapped non DFS mapping after returning from sleep - Drive available
Manually mapped DFS referral location after returning from sleep - Drive available
GPO mapped drive to DFS referral location after returning from sleep - Not available
I have also tried updating the computer pwer management drives and adjusting power management on the NIC and within the Windows 7 Power management GUI. Of which neither have had any effect.
