I manage a file server that holds primarily video and audio files. I want users to be able to copy the files from the server to their local machine, but I do not want them to have rights to open the files directly from the server (i.e. I do not want them to "stream" the media).
For security reasons that are over my head on our domain, the solution must use built-in features of Windows Server 2008R2, and cannot involve the installation of software.
Can anybody help with this?
