I have a 2008R2 File server with 2 large NTFS volumes. I want to upgrade this server to 2012R2. If these NTFS volumes, that were created on a 2008R2 server, are attached to a 2012R2 server, will they be able to take advantage of the improvements
made in 2012R2? Such as, faster check disk times, Deduplication, improved NTFS reliability, etc. My concern is that the volumes may need to be reformatted under the new OS. Can someone please clarify this?
