When using Windows disk manager to shrink the disk, it doesn't allow shrinking the partition. Event 259 is in the event viewer so i assume it has something to do with that. My servers configuration has both the C: and D: partitions on the same disk and the problem happens when selecting the D partition and then selecting shrink. I saw another duscussion for this on Vista, is there another solution for Server 2008 R2 that doesn't involve a third party software product?
