I've found a new problem in ReFS on an enterprise data server.
We started getting reports that backups where failing, the backup log file was 4GB long! so i went to the location in question on one of the data drives.... get to the 177 character long address, and in that folder i found something that should be impossible.
Over 21 MILLION sub-folders labeled "x" all with the exact same date stamp.
I have to block out all identifying information because this company data... but you can still see the problem.
If something like this happened before, i would just run chkdsk and fix it, but thats not an option with ReFS.
All the folders are invalid... and you just get (This is no longer located....) when trying to delete. can't delete from the cmd prompt, same type of error.
so what now???
I can't post a picture here because it says i am not verified.. (lame) so here is the link to it
