I'm planning to try guest clustering in my lab with R2 Preview. I thought an iSCSI failover cluster of hosts would probably be necessary, and apparently iSCSI block storage is a good solution (without having an actual SAN available ).
I'm searching for info (if anyone can post a couple of URLs) on selecting the type of virtual iSCSI drives, since it's taking my quad core Phenom II 3.0 GHZ server with internal 1.0 TB SATA II drive and 4 GB RAM about 1 min. / GB to "clear" the iSCSI virtual drive. The 1 GB quorum took only 1 min., but the 998 GB VM virtual iSCSI drive is taking 998 minutes....so wanted to know if selecting dynamic disk would be a better choice.
This is a test lab, not production, using desktops with R2 Preview.........Thanks for any answers!
