Funny thing.
Our setup:
San, hypver-v Cluster (2 servers). One of the servers on the hyper-v cluster is hosting a share which is deduplicated. Every day we make a full backup to tape robot which is mounted on Windows 2003 server. We use NT backup. I check the backup log now and then and nothing abnormal was reported. One day a user wanted to restore a hole folder which has around 600 files. I restored this folder with no errors reported 04/07/2013. The 08/03/2013 I started to get scrubbing events of file corruption from that folder I restored. I found out that around 20 files were actually corrupted. I checked the tapes and restored the same files to other servers and true enough they were curropted. I presume that NT-backup from 2003 is now useless? Anyone else experience something wierd from other backup/restore scenarios on a "deduped" drive?
