Hello;
I am thinking about building a file server using ReFS. I have a few questions, however;
1. A lot of ReFS's features (e.g. corrupt file restore, data scrubbing) seem to be tied with Storage Spaces. I am wary of using Storage Spaces, however, since its write performance in parity mode seems to be very low. What features do I lose by using ReFSwithout Storage Spaces?
2. Is there any point to enabling integrity streams on ReFS if I don't use Storage Spaces?
3. If I have ReFS without Storage Spaces and file data is found to be corrupt, what happens? Is something just written to the event log, or do I get a popup message or something that asks me to restore the file from a backup?
4. Last question. A lot of these questions are based on the assumption that Storage Spaces in parity mode has terrible write speeds. Is this still the case in 2012 R2? Probably going to use 3x3TB drives.
