Best way to start DFSR after extended downtime - Server 2003 R2

DFS (one way) replication. (I know, not supported)  Site A primary \ Site Bfiles never change
Site B lost connectivity for 4 days, I disabled dfs service as I didn't want some weird replication to happen when it came back online. When backup, enabled and started dfs service,  event logs started with 4412 errors,"The DFS Replication service detected that a file was changed on multiple servers. A conflict resolution algorithm was used to determine the winning file. The losing file was moved to the Conflict and Deleted folder. "the file it reference had not changed, and files only change Site A.

I've had B wipe out A in the past so I panicked and stopped the service again on both. I've spot checked and it looks like the files the logs said it deleted are still there, but I am still paranoid it will start purging these files if I let it complete the process.

Now I'm trying to figure out the best way to get DFS running smoothly again without wiping all the files out on Site A.

*I need to get the service started again. I was thinking I could disable each replication group and then slowly bring them back online, but I see 2 places to do this under Memberships and Connections. Which is the best place to temporarily disable a group or is there a better way to do this?
