SID and iSCSI connect

We had an imaging system that consisted of an APP and SQL vm servers that stored dataon an iSCSI sotre device, tha tthe server connect too using an iSCSI connector. During an upgrade, we added an updated APPS and SQL server and pointed these two new servers to the same data volume (no application software loaded yet). On the day of the install, we loaded the application and configures the new SQL to see the data volume. Next day, we lost user rights, which we repaired, next day, data volume crashed and I lost some data files. One Tech says that the SIDs from the original and new systems crashed the user rights, then after repairs, damage the actual data files on the iSCSI volume. I also see article that SIDs only have such problems on workgroups but on a domain, the unique SID numbers allow for multiple device access. Any thoughts ?

Thanks for your Help The Zarrr
