Hi all,
I am currently in the middle of a course learning about roaming profiles. I have set up a domain controller (domcontroller01) and a client machine (ClientPC01) on VirtualBox VM. I have also created a domain (DG). I also setup a security group on Active Directory named "Roaming Profiles" and assigned these to the users.
This is my first time setting up roaming profiles and straight away encountered an issue despite going through the microsoft guide on how to deploy roaming profiles and the course videos.
The initial log on to a user is completely fine. Nothing is having issues at this point. But when I log off, that is when I start to have issues. It takes about 10 minutes to log off even though no data is on the profile at all. Then it says my profile was not completely synchronized, please check event log. I did and below is the sort of errors I am getting:
Windows cannot copy file \\?\C:\Users\test1\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows\UPPS\UPPS.bin to location \\?\UNC\domcontroller01\profiles$\test1.V6\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows\UPPS\UPPS.bin. This error may be caused by network problems or insufficient security rights. DETAIL - Access is denied.
I have checked permissions to \\domcontroller01\profiles$ ::
DG\Roaming Profiles (Group) = Special Permissions - List folder / read data & Create folders / append data (this folder, subfolders and files)
DG\Administrators (Group) = Full control (this folder only)
I have checked permissions to \\domcontroller01\profiles$\test1.V6 ::
DG\Test1 (user) = Full Control
I have also checked the profile tab on active directory and the below is inputted:
\\domcontroller01\profiles$\test1
Can anyone help me resolve this problem please? didnt really expect this straight away after creating and setting up roaming profiles!
Thanks,
Dan
