Hello --
This discussion is actually an off-shoot of one from another forum. The name of that thread is "Monitoring Network Performance", and it can be found at the following url:
Monitoring Network Performance
I have compiled five Performance Monitor reports that include four Differential and one Full Backup job. These reports are available if anyone needs to view them. Please let me know how they should be sent to the recipient.
The mdf files are located on a SAN that utilizes SAS drives and architecture, while the bak files are situated on another SAN that utilizes SATA drives and SAS architecture. The two SAN's are connected to a 10Gb switch on a private network. There are twenty
databases that are backed up in both types of jobs, and they range in size from several megabytes to about 120 gigabytes. The number of databases that are around this latter size is four.
I need to identify the root cause(s) and/or bottleneck(s) that are causing the Full Backup jobs to run as long as they do.
