I've been through a bunch of articles and have not been able to clear this out. Back when I started this Active Directory I created two namespaces for our DFS "Files" and "Future". Long story short, I removed "Future" and
have found it just won't go away. It doesn't show up in the DFS management, but there is still a share in DFSRoots I am unable to remove. I receive the error: "An error occurred while trying to delete share Future. The share must be removed from the Distributed
File System before it can be deleted."
I have been unable to find it in Adsiedit.msc and the registry.
I have been unable to find it in Adsiedit.msc and the registry.
The interesting part is when I run DFSutil from command prompt (including output):
C:\>dfsutil server dc01.abc.local Roots on machine dc01.abc.local \ABC\Files \ABC\Future Done with Roots on machine dc01.abc.local Done processing this command. C:\>dfsutil domain abc.local Roots on Domain abc.local Files Done with Roots on Domain abc.local Done processing this command.
It appears to live on as a namespace on the server, but it is removed from the Active Directory. I don't know how to remove it from the server.
Any ideas?
Much appreciated ahead of time.
