We are using a EMC Storage with CIFS partition but now we want to use Fiber Channel Connection instead of CIFS.
Our Plan is to change connection method in EMC from CIFS to Fiber Channel then Connect that Fiber Channel LUN to Windows server which will be act as a File server and DFS server which will replicate to other file server/DFS Replication.
My problem is we are using more than 6 TB CIFS volume and large permission for users I am not sure how it converted to FC and what about the share permissions I will contact EMC for this but anyone can guide if they have some Idea for smooth transition or how can I export all permissions and then apply same permissions in case FC lose the CIFS permission?
Is DFS is a right choice for offsite/DR Replication with more than 6 TB data?
